After you Apply for a Security Worker Licence – How long does it take?
Timelines: When to Expect You Licence to Arrive
You should expect to receive a licence within 30 days from the date the application is received by the Registrar—provided there are no problems with the application package. (Note: ‘business days’ do not include statutory holidays or weekends). Listed under ‘Resources’ in the navigation bar is a link to the Current Application Processing Dates page that is updated weekly to provide applicants with the current processing status of submitted licence applications. Please make sure to check this page regularly to see if there is a backlog of applications which may delay the processing of your application.
Incomplete Licence Application Packages
Incomplete application packages will cause a delay in the turn around time. If an incomplete application is received, Security Programs will have to return your entire package, un-processed, with a letter explaining what is missing or completed incorrectly. It is important to note that immediately upon receiving a application for a new, renewal or, on some occasions, an update, a criminal record check will commence, then the package is forward to the licensing department for processing. As soon as that criminal record check is initiated, fees cannot be refunded. Once you respond to the letter and submit the now complete or corrected package, processing the licence will commence -- anticipate another 30 days for processing.
