Timelines: When to Expect You Licence to Arrive
You should expect to receive a licence within 30 days from the date the application is received by the Registrar—provided there are no problems with the application package. (Note: ‘business days’ do not include statutory holidays or weekends).
Incomplete Licence Application Packages
Incomplete application packages will cause a delay in the turnaround time. If an incomplete application is received, Security Programs will send a letter explaining what is missing or completed incorrectly. It is important to note that immediately upon receiving an application for a new, renewal or, on some occasions, an update, a criminal record check will commence, then the package is forwarded to the licensing department for processing. As soon as that criminal record check is initiated, fees cannot be refunded. Once you respond to the letter and re-submit the corrected package, processing the licence will commence – anticipate another 30 days for processing.
