Online Service – Information and Access
Individuals and Businesses wanting to apply for, or already hold, a security licence in B.C. may now choose to submit licensing forms and payments electronically rather than using the manual, paper form process. Watch this page for alerts and updates on any system outages, changes, or new processes added to this, phase one, of the online service.
Before you begin, make sure you understand the licensing requirements and are ready to submit your application. Information is available in the following guides:
Scroll down this page to find your starting point.
NOTE: you must use the manual process (not this online service) if:
- if you want to request authorization to use dogs and/or restraints, as the ability to request this authorization is not available online.
- you need to update your licence
- you need to request a replacement
- you are a controlling member of the business without a security worker licence (if you hold a security worker licence, need to renew or want to apply for one, you may use the online service)
- your current licence expires prior to November 2009 <more>
Individuals / Security Workers
- Apply for New – If you've never held a security worker licence before.
- Apply for New – with EXPIRED licence. If your licence has expired, you will have to apply for a new licence but as you have been licensed before, some of your information may already be in the system. You first require a secure Access Code to start the process online. Contact Security Programs.
- Renew – have a CURRENT licence that expires after October 31, 2009. Security Programs will be issuing secure access codes that will allow you to renew your licence using the online services. If your licence expires prior to November, you will not be able to use the online service - please continue with the manual renewal form found on this website. If your licence expires after October 31st, 2009, expect a letter to arrive containing your access code shortly after you receive your renewal notice from the Registrar. If you are ready to renew come November and have not received your access code, contact Security Programs.
