Online Service – Information and Access

Individuals and Businesses wanting to apply for, or already hold, a security licence in B.C. may now choose to submit licensing forms and payments electronically rather than using the manual, paper form process.

Before you begin, make sure you understand the licensing requirements and are ready to submit your application. Information is available in the following guides:

Scroll down this page to find your starting point.

NOTE: you must use the manual process (not this online service) if you are a controlling member of the business without a security worker licence (if you hold a security worker licence, need to renew or want to apply for one, you may use the online service)

Individuals / Security Workers

  • Apply for New – If you've never held a security worker licence before.
  • Apply for New – with EXPIRED licence. If your licence has expired, you will have to apply for a new licence but as you have been licensed before, some of your information may already be in the system. You first require a secure Access Code to start the process online. Contact Security Programs.
  • Renew, Update, Replace – have a CURRENT licence. You need a secure Access Code to renew your licence online. The access code is in your renewal letter from the Registrar. If you do not have the code, contact Security Programs.

Businesses

Use the online service to either Apply for a New security business licence or Renew your current licence. Business must have a Business BCeID that is authorized by the Registrar, Security Services, before using this service. More information about the online service and steps to obtaining a BCeID is in the guide, Getting and Keeping Your Security Business Licence.
