Administrative
Driving Prohibition Review
I have been
served with a notice of an Administrative Driving Prohibition. What
are my options?
Review instructions appear on the Notice of Prohibition that you
were served.
If you wish to have a review of the prohibition - attend your nearest
ICBC Driver Services Centre within 7 days from the date you were
served with the notice to apply.
If you do not wish to apply for a review, the prohibition will come
into effect on the 21st day after you were served the notice of
prohibition and will be in effect for 90 days. Once the 90 days
has expired, attend your nearest ICBC Driver Services Centre to
apply for a new licence.
If you need information concerning licensing requirements, call
ICBC at 1-800-950-1498, or 978-8300 in the Greater Victoria area.
I have applied
for a review of an Administrative Driving Prohibition. When will
I receive a decision?
When a decision has been made, the decision will be sent to you
by regular mail.
The prohibition will start 21 days after you were served with the
ADP Notice unless you are advised that your prohibition was overturned.
I applied
for a review and have received a decision letter.
Can I appeal the review decision?
The review decision that was made is final and cannot be changed.
The start date of a prohibition is stated in the letter you received.
This date cannot be changed. There is no provision in the Motor
Vehicle Act for a restricted driver's licence.
