Information for Community Organizations
The Office to Combat Trafficking in Persons works directly with community organizations to provide services to trafficked persons. Within the community sector, a significant number of individuals and organizations have been identified, or identified themselves, as potential service providers for trafficked adults. Each human trafficking situation is unique and requires a different care coordination strategy.
Services a trafficked person may need:
- Emergency and ongoing medical and dental care
- Housing/Shelter/Clothing
- Financial support
- Counselling and mental health services
- Translation/Interpretation services
- Legal advice and support
- Reintegration and/or repatriation services
See the Resources and Links page for links to handbooks and toolkits for helping and working with victims of human trafficking.
