RED-LIGHT CAMERAS UPGRADED, EXPANDED TO SAVE LIVES
VANCOUVER – State-of-the-art, digital red-light cameras will be installed at 140 of B.C.’s most crash- and casualty-prone intersections to save lives and reduce serious injuries, Solicitor General John van Dongen announced March 6. The new units will expand the program, replacing 30 existing film cameras that circulate among 120 locations. The first digital cameras are expected to be operational later this summer.
