AVALANCHE AWARENESS DAYS
NORTH VANCOUVER – Solicitor General John van Dongen launches Avalanche Awareness Days (Jan 9-11) at Grouse Mountain. The event demonstrated winter outdoor safety tools and techniques including presentations about the importance of trip preparation, proper training, sport specific safety gear and life safety tips.
The Minister (middle) was joined by Canadian Avalanche Association and AdventureSmart representatives, as well as Minister of State for Intergovernmental Relations Joan McIntyre (second from left) for a demonstration on how to use an avalanche transceiver.
