Applying to Sell Your Product On-site
When you apply for a manufacturer’s licence to operate your winery, brewery or distillery, you may also apply for an appointment to operate an on-site retail store, in order to sell the products you make at your manufacturing facility.
New Manufacturer
If you are applying for a new liquor manufacturing licence, you can apply for an appointment for an on-site retail store by completing the appropriate sections of the Application for a Manufacturer's Licence (Winery, Distillery, Brewery) (LCLB014).
Along with your application form you will need to submit written confirmation from the relevant zoning authority that the site is zoned appropriately for an on-site store.
As part of the final inspection prior to issuing your manufacturer’s licence, the local liquor inspector will also inspect your retail store area.
Existing Manufacturer
If you already have a manufacturer’s licence and you want to apply for an on-site retail store appointment, you can apply by completing the Application for New Appointment to Operate a Manufacturer On-site Retail Store (LCLB014b).
You will need to provide written confirmation that the site is zoned appropriately for an on-site store. In addition, prior to issuing an appointment, the local liquor inspector will need to inspect your retail store area.
Annual Renewal
When you renew your manufacturer's licence, your on-site appointment and agent licence (if you have one), will be renewed automatically.
Note on Fees
There are no additional application or renewal fees required for manufacturer on-site stores.
