The B.C. Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) regulates:

  • liquor service in bars and restaurants
  • private liquor stores
  • liquor manufacturers and importers
  • Ubrews and UVins (for personal liquor manufacturing), and
  • liquor service at catered and special occasion events.

The Liquor Distribution Branch is responsible for the importation and distribution of liquor in B.C. and also operates government liquor stores. See the following links for store locations and product availability.

Applying for a Liquor Licence

NEW: Caterers can now apply for a liquor licence. Food Primary and Liquor Primary licensees can apply for a catering endorsement.

Special Occasion Liquor Licence (SOL)
If you are hosting a special event (e.g., wedding, sports tournament, dinner and dance, or other type of one-time event) and want to serve beer, wine or spirits, you need a Special Occasion Licence. Follow this link for more information.

Online Services
To use our online services you must have a OneStop Account. An online account will allow you to renew your BC Liquor Licence with a credit card. It is also the way licensee's with the correct endorsements must apply for Catering Event Authorizations, Market Authorizations, and Temporary Use Area Authorizations.
