Acknowledgement of Gaming Funds

Overview

When acknowledging the financial assistance of the Province of British Columbia, organizations should use the BC Mark.

The following information is intended to provide full guidelines on how to use the BC Mark properly.

It is also acceptable to acknowledge grant funding contribution simply with a line of text and without the provincial mark. Example:

"XXX acknowledges the financial assistance of the Province of British Columbia"

If you do use the BC Mark, you must:

  • Never allow the image to be smaller than 19mm (3/4") tall;
  • Make sure that the image is never skewed, tilted or stretched (when resizing, the horizontal and vertical scales must be maintained in correct proportions);
  • Use the 'positive' images on light-coloured backgrounds; and
  • Use the 'reverse' images on dark-coloured backgrounds.

NOTE:
The available graphic files have transparent backgrounds. In other words the background colour of the image will match the background colour of the document in which it is placed. For this reason the white 'British Columbia' text in the 'reverse' images will not be visible in documents with white backgrounds.

The following sections provide information that will help you select and download the most appropriate graphic file format from the three available options (EPS, PNG and GIF).

EPS graphic files

Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files are intended for output on PostScript compatible devices. Typical uses of this file type include advertising, artwork, brochures, and other printed matter that you will be sending to an outside, professional printer for duplication.

NOTE: You will need the appropriate software to open and manipulate EPS files.

To download one of the EPS files listed at the end of this section, choose one of the following methods:

Method A:

  1. RIGHT-CLICK on the link for the appropriate graphic and then CLICK on the 'Save Target As' option in the pop-up menu
  2. WAIT for the 'Save As' dialog box to appear on your screen
  3. CHOOSE a location on your computer to save the image file to
  4. CLICK the 'Save' button on the dialog box
  5. CHANGE the downloaded file's extension from '.ps' to '.eps' (see note below)

Method B:
