Fire Prevention Week 2009
Fire Prevention Week is October 4 - 10, 2009. The theme this year is “Stay Fire Smart! Don’t Get Burned”. During Fire Prevention Week fire and life safety educators around the province will bring important safety messages to their community on burn awareness and prevention, as well as keeping homes safe from the leading causes of home fires.
Fire Prevention Week activities are planned in communities across the province. A province-wide Community Fire Drill scheduled on October 7th at 6:30. During that time BC residents are encouraged to test their smoke alarm and practice their escape plan.
Click on poster below for more information on the province-wide Community Fire Drill.

Fire Prevention Week activity booklets have been shipped directly to fire departments. They should arrive during the first week of September. All fire departments will get the same number of activity booklets as they received last year unless otherwise discussed. If you require additional copies please contact Ellen Pelto at the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
