Fire Service Advisors are located in Prince George, Kamloops, Cranbrook and Victoria. They are a resource to local government fire departments, Local Assistants to the Fire Commissioner and the public. They provide a variety of services, which include:

representing the Fire Commissioner at the regional level and making presentations at meetings and seminars |
| • |
uniform enforcement of the Fire Services Act throughout British Columbia |
| • |
response to assist fire departments, police or other ministries in matters which threaten life safety from fire |
| • |
response to assist Local Assistants, coroner, or the police for fire investigations as per OFC Guideline |
| • |
assistance to Local Assistants in fire prevention duties |
| • |
providing advice and an interpretive resource to fire, police, building officials, industry and the general public in matters of fire safety |
| • |
providing expert testimony to the courts in matters of fire cause determination |
| • |
reviewing plans as required by the Fire Code. |
