Regional Services


Fire Service Advisors are located in Prince George, Kamloops, Cranbrook and Victoria. They are a resource to local government fire departments, Local Assistants to the Fire Commissioner and the public. They provide a variety of services, which include:

representing the Fire Commissioner at the regional level and making presentations at meetings and seminars
uniform enforcement of the Fire Services Act throughout British Columbia
response to assist fire departments, police or other ministries in matters which threaten life safety from fire
response to assist Local Assistants, coroner, or the police for fire investigations as per OFC Guideline
assistance to Local Assistants in fire prevention duties
providing advice and an interpretive resource to fire, police, building officials, industry and the general public in matters of fire safety
providing expert testimony to the courts in matters of fire cause determination
reviewing plans as required by the Fire Code.
