Fire Service Awards

Local Assistant Retirement Plaque

Any Local Assistant to the Fire Commissioner within the province, who has served a minimum of 10 years as an LAFC, and has been or is being retired from the fire service, is eligible (subject to approval) to receive a plaque from the Fire Commissioner for their service to this office. The plaque will be presented to the retiring LAFC by the Fire Commissioner or his delegate.

If an LAFC served previously as a Local Assistant Fire Marshal, their LAFM badge (if available) may be also placed on the plaque for presentation along with the LAFC badge upon their retirement. Please note that a separate plaque will not be made up for the LAFM badge.

Local Assistants who have served for less than ten (10) years may be issued a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing the years of service worked.

For further information, please contact your Regional Office of the Fire Commissioner.
