Fire Service
Awards Fire Commissioner's CommendationThe Fire Commissioner's
Commendation is a formal means of recognizing the actions of any individual who
makes an outstanding contribution to fire safety in the province of British Columbia.
The commendation is available to members of the public as well as the fire service
and is coordinated through the Office of the Fire Commissioner. To apply
for a commendation, a local fire chief or Local Assistant to the Fire Commissioner
must send a letter of request to the Regional Fire Commissioner for their area,
outlining the incident and the person's actions. The Regional Fire Commissioner
will review each request and make recommendation to the Fire Commissioner. Commendations
will then be forwarded for presentation at the local level. For further information,
please contact your Regional Office of the Fire Commissioner. Return to Fire Service Awards index page
