- Community Safety and Crime Prevention
The Safe Communities Kit was developed to assist communities and individuals in preventing crime and enhancing safety across British Columbia. The following six publications make up the kit:
The Community Crime Prevention Guide (on the Criminal Justice Reform website) provides information on how to develop and implement an action plan, develop a communications strategy, plus it lists valuable sources of support.
The report provides an overview of the prevalence of gangs in B.C. and Canada, and clear guidelines on evidence-based practices.
Groups of service providers and community partners who are working to develop local strategies to address prostitution and sexual exploitation.
A series of six handouts for communities addressing sexual exploitation of children and youth. Individuals and groups wanting to take action in their communities on issues related to the sexual exploitation of children and youth may use these handouts to guide them through the process of setting up a Community Action Netword, creating a community action plan, applying for funding, building awareness, and more.
