Ford Mountain Correctional Centre

Description
The Fraser Regional Correctional Centre (FRCC) district operates Ford Mountain Correctional Centre. It is a sentenced facility for inmates who are classified as sex offenders or mentally disordered offenders. Other inmates are classified to the centre as a result of their protective custody status. An inmate is not transferred to Ford Mountain Correctional Centre if his attitude is incompatible with goals of the sex offender treatment program.

Recreation

  • Gymnasium with weight room and outside playfield with track
  • Common rooms for billiards, board games, cards and TV
  • Library services
  • Woodwork shop for hobbies

Religious and spiritual programs
The chaplain provides weekly services, ecumenical and interfaith liaison, bible study classes and individual counselling. A native liaison worker facilitates talking circles and a sweat lodge program for inmates.
