There are a number of Community Safety and Crime Prevention grants available. The following provides an overview of funding opportunities posted on this site.

Civil Forfeiture Crime Remediation and Crime Prevention Grant

The Civil Forfeiture Crime Remediation and Crime Prevention Grant aims to support communities in preventing and addressing issues of crime violence and victimization. Funding of up to $20,000 is available for one-time community projects that address and prevent crime, violence, and victimization. [news release]

Safe Street & Safe Schools Program

The Safe Streets and Safe Schools Grant Program provides support to schools and communities for strategies that enhance public safety and local crime prevention efforts. The program encourages the development of best practices and innovative strategies that expand or increase problem solving approaches to crime and build capacity for community safety at the local level. more>>

National Crime Prevention Centre

The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General works in partnership with the federal government's National Crime Prevention Stratety to offer three funding programs to support projects that address the root causes of crime. more>>

Crime Prevention Week & Safe Communities Day

Grants are available to assist communities organize crime prevention events. more>>

Restorative Justice:
Community Accountability Programs (CAP) Grants

CAPs hold low risk, youth and adult offenders accountable for their actions, give victims a voice, repair the harm caused by an offence and help restore balance in the community. Grants of up to $2500 for ongoing activities are available each year. more>>
