Inter-Ministry Committee on the Prevention of Youth Violence and Crime
The Inter-ministry Committee includes more than 40 representatives from provincial and federal social justice ministries, as well as police, school districts, parent groups and professional associations. It provides a forum for government and local agencies to cooperatively address youth violence and crime related issues by identifying priority areas and developing strategies and resources. Joint Management Committee National Crime Prevention Centre
The National Crime Prevention Centre (NCPC) has established Joint Management Committees in each Region, including British Columbia. Joint Management Committees participate in the implementation of NCPC's Crime Prevention Action Fund (CPAF) in each province and territory. The committees are typically made up of representatives of the provincial or territorial government, the federal government, and other crime prevention and community safety stakeholders in the region. Members review and approve funding applications and shape regional priorities for the program.
In British Columbia, the Joint Management Committee is co-chaired by the NCPC B.C. Region office and the Victim Services and Crime Prevention Division and also includes other crime prevention and community safety stakeholders in the region. For more information contact Victim Services and Crime Prevention Division.
